He works in everything...
I received a call from Chase this noon asking for verification for unauthorized withdrawal on my ATM card. The lady told me that someone in NY withdrew $1,000 from my account. I was shocked considering it was from my debit card and it was a huge amount of money. I went back home and tried to access my bank account online, but my account was blocked.
I then went to Chase with
After being confused and shocked for quite some times, I finally found how this did happened. A week ago, after went back from school, I received an email from Chase with the topic “Alert: Account Locked.” I read the email and responded to the link, it was a link to Chase to verify account by giving some information. Today, I figured out that Chase will never send an email to its customers and ask for a response. Oh no….
While working to close my account, the lady who helped me, found a monthly charge of $39.80 since November 2005. She asked me if it was right. I tried to remember but I could not recognize it. The lady then called the number stated there…it was a monthly service fee for finding property (did not really get it, but it clearly was not me). The not so unfriendly woman from that property business said that I signed up for that service. It was under my name, but the email stated there was not mine dohhhhhhhhh…..*shock* can you imagine that??? I never signed up for that service and the email was wrong, but I got charged from my debit card every month………oh no………I lost my smile!
*shock shock shock* if the fraud charge of that huge amount never took place, I would never find out that unknown charge! Still give thanks to God because I will get my money back. The woman from the property business said that as a courtesy, they will refund me for July charge and close my membership…Sad---sad---sad---but what can I do? Feel like giving about $280 for free…..mom will say, “ anggep aja deh mberkatin orang laen…” thanks for your companion and support, Ger!
I want to learn to give thanks at all times. I remember Diani said, “If you give thanks to the Lord, you will see His glory.”
You give and take away, my heart will choose to say, Lord, blessed be Your name!”
Eniwei, will not let this steal the joy of the Lord! Thanks for this experience Father! Surely I learn something out of that!
Guys, disregard any email from bank asking you to respond. Don’t forget to check and read your monthly bank statement!

Mei, kasus org kirim fake emails claim to be from banks itu banyak banget emang. Have you not heard about it? I can't believe you actually did give away your info :(
Oh well, yg sudah terjadi udah lewat lah. It's an experience, lain kali lebih hati2 deh Mei. Thankfully juga it was discovered quickly yah. And it actually help you to discover that monthly charge thing, right? So God truly does works in everything!
Anyway, glad to hear that you still keep a positive attitude :) Dun worry, God can give back multiple times the blessings that is stolen. As in our part, ya we have to learn to be less careless lah :) Read your monthly statement, at least a glance through. Aku juga di sini punya my own records of expenses in Excel which I would tie out to the bank statement each month. At least if something happen I can notice it early. Maybe I'm too paranoid? well, I'm an accountant... I'm supposed to be paranoid with money calculations... hehehe...
I am sorry to hear what happened. It is never too late to be more careful.. especially in giving personal details. :)
gbu.
